Structural Designer

Job posting date: 2021-08-06

Position Overview: The Structural Designer performs design and drafting functions for development of new and existing products using Autodesk Suite (AutoCAD, Inventor & Advance Steel) software.  He/she may also be required to draft as-built changes and to update Bills of Material (BOM).  Candidates should be proficient preparing structural steel general arrangement and layout drawings, concrete foundation drawings, and 3-D models.  Be able to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Job Requirements:
  • Associate’s Degree in related field or equivalent and 5-8 years drafting experience in industrial, structural or mechanical engineering, or
  • No degree with 8-12 years of relevant drafting experience.
  • Proficient in rapid equipment design/drafting using AutoCAD, Advance Steel, and Inventor (version 2018+).
  • Mechanical design experience including Dust Collection Equipment (Baghouses, Cyclones, Ductwork, etc.), Bulk Material Handling Equipment, Piping, Conveyor Systems is a major plus.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide design and drafting support to other designers and engineers in the areas of structural design, documentation, assembly and installation.
  • Prepare 3-D models, structural steel support/framing drawings, weldment drawings, part detail drawings and Excel BOMs.
  • Perform a preliminary self-check of drawings produced prior to submitting them to the Project Engineer for approval.
  • Work with engineers to review and approve shop details prepared by others.
  • Assist designers and engineers with shop and field modifications to designs including “As Built” mark-ups.

Millwright – Permian Division (Job is located in the Permian Basin area of Texas)
Job posting date: 2021-12-16 Position Overview: As a Millwright for IAC/Permian Basin, the primary focus will be installing, aligning, and adjusting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components using appropriate tools. The Millwright will also perform repairs and preventative maintenance of heavy industrial machinery/equipment at various mine sites. This person will be expected to read and interpret plans, instruction manuals and charts. Primary Responsibilities:
    • Perform plant maintenance and repairs as directed
    • Responsible for maintaining work site grounds, i.e., housekeeping including the clearing of waste sand accumulation
    • Perform duties safely and responsibly while always observing all safety and health rules. Strictly follow all rules of safe mine operations as regulated by MSHA. Must follow all MSHA safety guidelines
    • Report all unsafe mechanical conditions to the Site Foreman and/or Supervisor.

The Laborer performs various manual labor tasks associated with many facets of the job site. Quality Control / Quality Assurance –  Job Site Representative

Position Overview:

Adelphi Construction LC is looking for an experienced QA/QC representative to perform on-site inspections and documentation. Interpreting Drawings P&ID and Process Flow diagrams is a must. Credentials relating to inspection (AWS, API, ASME, AISC, NACE, ANSI, etc.) is a plus, along with prior commissioning experience. Good communication skills are required. Position Overview:

Industrial Accessories Company (IAC), OEM for Air Pollution Control and Bulk Storage is looking for an experienced Project Coordinator to administer multiple small-to-medium sized equipment only projects within IAC’s Standard Engineered Products (SEP) business unit.  Experience with Dust Control Equipment (Baghouses, Cyclones, Ductwork, etc.). Bulk Material Handling Equipment and Conveyor Systems is a plus. Good communication skills are required. This person must be able to work with a group, work alone as required, continue learning and adapt to change.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • The Project Coordinator is to be responsible for project lifecycle coordination and main customer contact for multiple equipment only projects
  • Review new customer order intake and facilitate kickoff meetings
  • Manage customer communications and clarifications
  • Administer tasks and coordinate workflow with team members
  • Track and communicate standard schedule milestone dates
  • Manage communication with front office staff
  • Set up and manage billing milestones
  • Request and manage purchase orders to vendors as necessary
  • Provide status updates to engineering mgr., production control, and purchasing
  • Coordinate and assist O&M manual development
  • Responsible for resolving order problems in a timely manner
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation
  • Plan and communicate delivery and shipments of material

Field Service Mechanical and Electrical Technician

Position Overview:

IAC is a manufacturer of dust collector systems located in Mission, KS. Our equipment includes baghouse collectors, wet scrubbers, explosion /fire protection equipment, airlocks, pneumatic and vacuum conveying systems, and fans.

We are seeking a local Greater Kansas City area FIELD SERVICE MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN that can also travel out of state when needed, to inspect, diagnose, install, and service equipment (IAC and other manufacturers) at customer plants.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be well versed on all aspects of general safety OSHA /MSHA, (man lift and confined space certifications a plus)
  • Basic computer skills for report writing, technical lookup and browsing, emails (MS Office)
  • Skillful in working on industrial machinery, mechanical and minor electrical repairs/installations.
  • Capable of welding and cutting on mild steel, AR steel, and stainless-steel materials.
  • Qualified for replacement of bearings, idlers, sheaves, dust collector bags, gearboxes, and drive belts.
  • Able to be certified and willingness to wear protective respiratory equipment and all associated Safety PPE (Protective Personnel Equipment)
  • Must have a telephone and be open to callouts.
  • Must have reliable transportation for working within 100 mile radius of Kansas City (mileage is reimbursed and expensed). Anything beyond 100 miles is booked as travel i.e. rental car, etc.
  • Consent to work in sometimes hazardous environments utilizing proper PPE (lead, silica)
  • Participating in vendor and company-designated training including site specific training.
  • Operate various rental equipment including lifts and booms.
  • Trained in confined space procedures (supervisor/entrant, gas meter) current certificates or training a plus.
  • Possibly travel away from KC Metro area 25-50%
  • Willingness at times to work varying hours – M-F mostly but weekend and Holiday availability will be needed at times, depending on needs of the customers.
  • Prepared to pitch in and help hands-on when needed or supplement crews if needed on projects.
  • Valid REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or passport or ability to eventually obtain the equivalent to use commercial travel in 2023.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Self-starter and can work in unsupervised settings.
  • Skilled in the safe use of various hand and power tools
  • May supervise various subcontracted crew members as a “lead or project manager” from time to time.
  • Previous knowledge or training in differential pressures and understanding of relative and absolute pressure as it applies to dust collection and pressure / vacuum systems.
  • Must have the ability to respond and adjust to changing or new situations. Work well in high stress environments and maintain professionalism in dealing with customers and co-workers.
  • Due to our customers’ needs, priorities will change based on customer situations so individuals must be flexible and adapt to ever changing work schedule and priorities.
  • Utilize company travel coordinator and/or personally arrange cost effective travel arrangements (hotel, car rental and airline flights) within company policy guidelines and keep IAC team members and customers informed of all travel arrangements.
  • Complete timely service documentation regarding what was repaired or inspected during the visit and submit expense, completion, and site visit reports within one week of site departure.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the associate is regularly exposed to conditions including frequently exposed to extreme cold, heat (both weather and non-weather).
  • Able to tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to high temperature, noise, and dust.
  • Frequently exposed to work in high, precarious places, climbing silos and vertical ladders to heights well above normal
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand and walk; have manual dexterity to perform tasks; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Must have training and practical experience troubleshooting, inspecting, and repairing electro-mechanical systems and automation including electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and some minor fabrication skills required at times.
  • Installing control boxes, cards, replacements & setup, analog / digital sensors, valve rebuilds, 120VAC solenoid replacements, and all associated 120vac/ 4-24ma wiring.
  • On-site technical assistance in a courteous, professional, and confident manner to help evaluate, troubleshoot, install, and repair equipment.
