EPC Contractor for Industrial Facilities

Execution Without Surprises. IAC delivers turnkey EPC solutions for complex industrial projects where execution certainty matters. By aligning engineering, fabrication, construction, and commissioning under a single accountable partner, we eliminate handoff risk and reduce the surprises that derail schedules, budgets, and performance. Our EPC approach is built for operating plants, brownfield constraints, and tight outage windows, where disciplined planning and field-ready execution are non-negotiable. From front-end engineering through startup, IAC integrates design intent with real-world constructability to ensure systems perform as intended on day one and beyond. As both an OEM manufacturer and EPC contractor, we own more of the project lifecycle than a typical EPC firm, reducing the interface risk that comes from coordinating separate design, fabrication, and construction vendors. Owners and engineering partners rely on IAC to execute critical process, material handling, air quality, and thermal systems with clarity and control, protecting long-term reliability and compliance. This is the model behind IAC's industrial EPC contractor services, one accountable partner across procurement, manufacturing, and construction.

Every critical function, including engineering, OEM equipment design, fabrication, construction, and commissioning, is managed by IAC and our wholly owned subsidiary Adelphi Construction LC. This unified structure provides the control and accountability that drive successful fast-track project execution. Unlike EPC contractors that subcontract field construction to third parties, IAC self-performs civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical construction through Adelphi Construction LC. One organization controls schedule, safety, and quality from the first engineering drawing through final commissioning. No subcontractor markups, no handoff gaps between the design team and the crew in the field, and full accountability across the entire project scope. Our team of more than 250 employees, including 50+ engineers across structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines, ensures that each system is designed and built with precision. Projects are supported by a 500,000-square-foot fabrication facility, advanced 3D modeling tools, and a robust project management platform, and client-specific reporting systems.Because all disciplines operate within one organization, decisions move quickly, and communication stays clear. IAC maintains full visibility from design through startup, allowing for early issue resolution, fewer change orders, and stronger cost and schedule control. The result is a dependable EPC process that reduces risk and helps clients achieve operational readiness on time and within budget. Most EPC contractors procure equipment from third-party manufacturers, then coordinate delivery, installation, and performance guarantees across separate organizations. Engineered Baghouse Dust Collector Systems for Every Industry

Since 1987, IAC has been a trusted OEM and EPC partner for high-performance baghouse systems that help industrial plants meet strict emissions standards while protecting uptime and production goals. With more than 7,500 units in service across industries such as cement, steel, biomass, and power generation, our fabric filter baghouse dust collectors are field-proven to deliver reliable, long-term air pollution control. As a vertically integrated designer, manufacturer, and constructor, IAC provides complete lifecycle support from concept through commissioning and beyond. This includes engineering, fabrication, installation, and ongoing field services backed by a comprehensive inventory of replacement parts. Our in-house teams work together to ensure every system continues to operate efficiently, meeting compliance standards while minimizing maintenance costs.By combining precision engineering with practical service expertise, IAC helps facilities improve dust collection efficiency, reduce maintenance costs, and maintain clean air for workers and communities alike. Regulatory requirements vary by industry and application, but several standards apply broadly to facilities operating baghouse dust collectors. NFPA 654 governs the prevention of fire and dust explosions in facilities handling combustible particulate solids, a requirement for grain, biomass, and chemical processing operations. EPA NESHAP (National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants) and MACT (Maximum Achievable Control Technology) standards set enforceable emission limits for specific source categories, including integrated iron and steel, portland cement, and secondary metals. OSHA's silica standard (29 CFR 1910.1053) applies to operations generating respirable crystalline silica dust, common in cement, foundry, and mining applications. IAC engineers systems to meet or exceed the applicable standard for each facility's specific regulatory obligation, not a generic compliance threshold. A baghouse, also called a fabric filter dust collector, uses a series of filter bags to remove dust and fine particulate from process air. Contaminated air enters the collector housing, where heavier particles fall into a hopper and finer dust is captured on the surface of the filter media. Clean air then passes through the bags and returns to the atmosphere or back into the process stream. As operation continues, a thin dust layer called the dust cake forms on the filters, improving collection efficiency. To maintain proper airflow, automated cleaning systems periodically pulse compressed air or reverse airflow through the bags to dislodge the collected material into the hopper for removal or reuse.IAC engineers every baghouse to ensure efficient air distribution, effective cleaning, and long service life. From inlet ductwork to discharge systems, each component is designed to provide uniform airflow, maximize performance, and reduce maintenance requirements. IAC designs and manufactures a full range of baghouse configurations to meet the diverse needs of industrial operations. Each system is engineered around airflow volume, particulate characteristics, and operating conditions to deliver dependable performance and regulatory compliance. Every industrial process presents different challenges, from abrasive or sticky dust to high moisture or temperature conditions. IAC’s engineering teams design baghouse systems to match these specific process variables, ensuring consistent performance and simplified maintenance.Using advanced modeling and decades of field experience, IAC evaluates airflow patterns, filtration media, and cleaning system performance before fabrication begins. This approach allows for precise customization, whether adapting an existing design or creating a fully engineered system for a new facility.Material selection, structural design, and integration with pneumatic conveying or drying systems are all managed in-house for accuracy and quality control. The result is a dust collection system optimized for efficiency, durability, and long service life.IAC’s tailored solutions are field proven across a wide range of applications, including cement and lime plants, biomass energy production, chemical manufacturing, and mining operations. Our team will review your process requirements, operating conditions, and emissions targets to develop a reliable, cost-effective system tailored to your plant. A baghouse is an air pollution control device that removes particulates from industrial gas streams using fabric filter bags. Dust-laden air enters the baghouse, where particles are captured on the filter surface. Clean air then exits the system. IAC designs pulse-jet and reverse air baghouses for both main process and nuisance dust control, customized by airflow (500 to 3,000,000+ ACFM) and application type IAC serves industries with rigorous emissions and dust collection requirements, including cement and lime, biomass and biofuels, power generation, mining and minerals, food processing, and steel manufacturing. Baghouses are configured to meet the specific demands of each sector, including high temperature, high grain loading, or explosive dust environments. IAC offers a complete line of baghouses: Modular and M-Pulse Jet Baghouses High/Low Pressure Pulse-Jet Models Reverse Air Baghouses Stainless Steel and High-Temperature Units Wood Dust Collector BaghousesWe also provide custom-engineered conversions and rebuilds Our systems are engineered with conservative emissions calculations to meet or exceed regulatory standards. We offer integrated dry sorbent injection (DSI), mercury mitigation, and flue gas desulfurization (FGD) solutions alongside a baghouse dust collector. Sorbent Technology. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling and field testing are part of our system design and commissioning process. Yes. Through our in-house construction firm, Adelphi Construction LC, IAC provides turnkey baghouse installation, mechanical/electrical integration, and commissioning services. Our Industrial Special OPS teams also bridge the gap between construction and full production, offering training and system optimization at startup Absolutely. IAC specializes in retrofits and system upgrades including: Converting shaker or reverse-air to pulse-jet Adding advanced pulse valves or IoT-enabled Smart Plant™ monitoring Airflow reengineering for improved filter life and performanceOur retrofits can boost feed rate capacity by up to 12.23% and extend filter life by 33% IAC offers full lifecycle support: Filter bag and cage change-outs Mechanical repairs and part replacement System airflow analysis and performance evaluations Preventative maintenance programs Operator training and safety seminarsAll work is performed by our “Blue Crew,” the industry’s most experienced service team IAC is one of the top five baghouse OEMs globally, with over 7,500 units in service. We provide vertically integrated EPC solutions—engineering, fabrication, construction, controls, and service—under one roof. This reduces project risk and speeds up delivery without sacrificing quality Through IAC’s Quick Ship Program, standard configurations like clean air plenums and bin vents can ship within 2 to 6 weeks. These systems come pre-equipped with Smart Plant™ pulse valves and IoT-enabled controllers for faster installation and commissioning Baghouse dust collectors and cartridge collectors both use fabric filtration media, but they serve different applications. Baghouses are the better choice when airflow volumes are high (typically above 10,000 ACFM), when dust loading is heavy, when process gases are hot, or when the application involves abrasive, hygroscopic, or sticky particulate that would rapidly blind a cartridge element. Industries such as steel, cement, lime, and biomass routinely operate baghouses precisely because the process conditions exceed what cartridge collectors handle reliably. Cartridge collectors are well suited to lower-volume applications with fine, dry, free-flowing dust and moderate temperatures. They offer a smaller footprint and lower initial cost, but filter element replacement is more frequent and more expensive in demanding process environments. For applications involving combustible dust, high grain loading, or regulated emissions under NESHAP or MACT standards, a baghouse dust collector is typically the engineered solution of choice. IAC applications engineers can evaluate your specific process conditions and recommend the right collector type and configuration.

A scalable, indirect-heated reactor architecture for high-temperature processing of fine solids.

Patent-pending technology developed by IAC. The Drop Tube Calciner (DTC) is an engineered thermal processing technology designed to deliver controlled, high-temperature treatment of finely divided solids through indirect heating and modular parallelization. Rather than scaling by enlarging a single rotating vessel, the DTC architecture scales by replicating fixed-geometry vertical tubes arranged in parallel arrays. This approach provides predictable heat transfer behavior, residence time control, and mechanical simplicity no matter the unit size or throughput. Combustion gases are physically separated from reacting solids while travelling concurrently. Heat is transferred through alloy tube walls from an external furnace environment, preserving product gas integrity while enabling independent optimization of combustion and reaction conditions. The result is a modular thermal reactor platform engineered for: Controlled indirect heating Gravity-driven flow Linear scalability via tube replication Energy integration flexibility Industrial deployment across biomass, mineral, and emerging decarbonization applications Industrial high-temperature processing systems have traditionally scaled by increasing vessel size. While effective at smaller capacities, geometric enlargement can introduce mechanical complexity, uneven heat transfer characteristics, material handling constraints, and scale-up risk at higher throughputs. As industries pursue lower-emission energy systems, cleaner product streams, and improved process controllability, reactor architecture itself becomes an increasingly critical design variable. The DTC platform approaches scale differently. The DTC Platform design packs significantly more heat-transfer area into a compact volume, allowing for seamless capacity expansion with a vastly superior footprint. This enables: Predictable heat transfer profiles Consistent solids residence time behavior Uniform mechanical exposure Controlled thermal gradients By physically separating combustion gases from reacting solids, the DTC architecture decouples heat generation from process chemistry. This separation enables independent optimization of the combustion conditions and the reaction environment, meaning operators can produce high-purity, nitrogen-free syngas and high-carbon biochar without the risk of oxygen contamination, all while recovering clean waste heat. IAC is structural rethinking how industrial thermal systems can be designed for scalability, integration, and long-term operational stability. Gravity-Driven FlowPrepared feed material enters at the top of each tube and moves downward through the reactor by gravity. The fixed vertical geometry establishes a defined thermal pathway, supporting controlled residence time and uniform exposure to the heating surface. Indirect Heating Through Tube WallsHeat is supplied by combustion gases flowing around the exterior of the tubes within the chamber. Thermal energy is transferred through the tube walls by radiation and convection, heating the solids without direct contact between combustion products and the reacting material. Decoupled Reaction and Combustion ZonesBecause combustion and reaction environments are physically separated, operating parameters such as temperature profile, fuel selection, and excess air can be controlled without altering the composition of the internal process gas stream. This architectural separation supports applications where gas purity or controlled atmospheres are important. Modular ArchitectureTraditional calciners require ever-expanding, mechanically complex reactor bodies to increase volume. The DTC takes a radically different approach. By replication, the DTC achieves massive throughput with a significantly better footprint and none of the geometric scale-up penalties of legacy systems. Integrated Energy StrategyThe system architecture allows integration of recovered heat and process gas streams into broader facility energy systems, depending on application requirements. This may include internal fuel utilization, steam generation, or upstream drying integration as part of a complete engineered solution. The DTC platform is engineered around principles intended to improve scalability, controllability, safety, and integration flexibility in high-temperature processing environments. Replicating identical tube supports predictable heat transfer behavior. This design packs significantly more heat-transfer area into a compact volume, allowing for seamless capacity expansion with a vastly superior footprint. Physical separation between combustion gases and reacting solids enables controlled process environments and cleaner internal gas streams. Combustion parameters can be optimized independently of reaction chemistry. Gravity-driven flow through vertical tubes establishes a defined heating profile. This configuration supports consistent material exposure to the heating surface and reduces mechanical complexity compared to large rotating systems. The array-based configuration allows system design flexibility across a range of throughput requirements. Modular architecture can support staged capacity increases and application-specific configuration. The platform is designed to support integration of product gas and recovered heat streams into broader facility energy systems. Depending on application, this may include internal fuel utilization, upstream drying support, or steam generation strategies. With no large rotating vessels required for processing, the DTC architecture emphasizes static reactor geometry, potentially simplifying mechanical design and maintenance considerations relative to traditional rotary systems. The DTC platform is designed as a flexible thermal processing architecture adaptable to a variety of applications involving finely divided solids. Its indirect heating configuration and modular scalability make it relevant across both established industries and emerging decarbonization pathways. Whether you're processing woody biomass and agricultural residues or seeking a production pathway for biochar as a carbon commodity, the DTC converts organic material in an oxygen-free indirect environment, keeping combustion byproducts fully separated from your product stream.Applications may include: Biochar production for carbon sequestration or soil enhancement Renewable syngas for facility fuel or energy generation Metallurgical carbon for coke replacement in steel production Integrated heat recovery for upstream drying operations Municipalities and wastewater operators managing organic waste streams can thermally convert biosolids and MSW-derived material into recoverable energy and stable carbon products, reducing disposal burden while generating usable outputs. For operators facing PFAS-contaminated biosolids, high-temperature indirect thermal treatment offers a destruction pathway without introducing contamination into the combustion exhaust stream. PFAS-contaminated biosolids thermal treatment and destruction General biosolids treatment and volume reduction MSW-derived fuel and syngas recovery Stable carbon output for sequestration or beneficial reuse Heat recovery integration into existing facility infrastructure For producers requiring precise atmospheric control over high-temperature mineral treatment, the DTC decouples combustion from the reaction environment entirely, allowing fuel flexibility without compromising product purity or process chemistry. Lime and limestone processing Supplementary cementitious material production Specialty mineral thermal treatment Lower-emission calcination without direct-fired process redesign As industries pursue lower-emission thermal processing and alternative energy integration models, reactor architecture becomes increasingly important. The DTC platform may support: Renewable baseload energy generation with carbon credit co-production Activated carbon and specialty carbon product manufacturing Carbon management and sequestration initiatives Co-located energy and materials infrastructure The platform is engineered with integration in mind. Product gas streams and recoverable heat may be incorporated into broader facility energy strategies, including: Steam generation Process heat supply Dryer integration Internal fuel utilization As industries pursue cleaner energy systems, carbon management strategies, and more scalable thermal systems, reactor design itself is a critical strategic consideration. The Drop Tube Calciner (DTC) platform reflects a structural rethink of high-temperature processing — emphasizing: Separation of combustion and reaction environments Modular parallelization rather than geometric enlargement Controlled thermal pathways through vertical tube arrangement Integration flexibility within broader energy systems This architectural approach is designed to support industrial-scale deployment while maintaining safety, engineering discipline and operational predictability. The DTC platform represents IAC’s continued commitment to advancing practical, scalable thermal processing systems aligned with the evolving demands of biomass utilization, mineral processing, and industrial decarbonization. IAC engages with organizations assessing scalable indirect thermal processing systems for industrial deployment.

A pneumatic conveying system is a material handling method that uses air pressure or vacuum to move bulk solids—like powders, granules, or pellets—through a pipeline from one location to another. These systems are commonly used in industries such as cement, chemicals, biomass, and food processing, where cleanliness, efficiency, and safety are critical. There are two main types of conveying methods: Dilute Phase Conveying: Ideal for non-abrasive, lightweight materials, this method suspends particles in a high-velocity airstream. It’s often used in applications requiring rapid transport and continuous flow. Dense Phase Conveying: Uses a lower velocity, higher pressure approach to push heavier or abrasive materials in slug flow. This reduces wear and product degradation, making it ideal for fragile or high-value materials. Depending on plant layout and material characteristics, systems can be configured as pressure conveying (blowing air) or vacuum conveying (pulling air). IAC provides both configurations and assists with selecting the optimal mode based on throughput, material density, particle size, and convey distance.Learn more about Dry Material Handling Systems and how they integrate with our pneumatic conveying designs. Baghouse Filter Calculators

Baghouse design involves the selection and sizing of components for a dust collection system used in various industrial applications to capture and filter airborne particles. Several calculators and tools can be helpful in the design process, depending on the specific requirements of your baghouse system. Here are some types of calculators and tools that can be useful:

Baghouse Filter Cages for Reliable Dust Collection

Filter cages are essential to maintaining efficient dust collection and filtration performance. They support the filter bags, keeping them open so air can pass evenly through the fabric for proper cleaning and dust release. A well-designed cage prevents bag abrasion, extends service life, and helps maintain system airflow and compliance.IAC provides high-quality replacement filter cages for all baghouse types and brands. Available in multiple materials and configurations, our cages are engineered for durability and compatibility with pulse-jet, reverse air, and shaker-style systems. Whether you are replacing worn components or upgrading for improved performance, IAC provides precision-built cages that help your dust collection system operate at its best. AC supplies a wide range of baghouse dust collector filter cage configurations. Common wire cage constructions consist of 10, 12, or 20 vertical wire stringers. Standard horizontal ring spacings are 4”, 6” or 8”.If plenum height restrictions are a problem, two-piece filter cages are available. The number of vertical wire stringers used in filter cage construction depends on the applicable requirements and fabric media used for the filter bag. Baghouse filter cages with 10 wire stringers are usually used on heavier weight felts, while 12 wire stringers are usually used on lighter to medium weight felts. Filter cages with 20 wire stringers are usually used on fiberglass fabric filters and other media that require maximum support, thereby reducing the excessive flexing of the fabric yarns that usually causes premature bag failure. The strongest filter cages for pulse-jet baghouses are known as a “rigid wire” cage. A rigid wire filter cage is designed to provide uniform support to the overall length of the fabric filter, utilizing stringer wires that are equally spaced around the circumference of the filter cage and welded to support rings that are spaced along the length of the filter cage. Special filter cage tops, such as roll band and roll flange styles, are also welded to the stringer wires; thereby developing a strong internal assembly from which to attach the filter cage and filter bag to the baghouse tubesheet. The filter cage bottom is either interlocked to a stringer ring or welded to the stringers. Either method is equally sufficient for support. Where moisture or chemical conditions create an environment that is corrosive to metal, 10, 12, and 20 wire filter cages can be produced from stainless steel or carbon steel with a variety of available coatings. Coatings such as epoxy are commonly used for corrosive environments. Special paints or electro-processed finishes such as electro galvanizing are also available to guard against corrosion. Each filter cage, regardless of design, is produced consistently to specification. Diameter, overall length, and other close tolerances are held uniformly due to exclusive automated and state-of-the-art production equipment. Production runs are continually destruction-tested to monitor and maintain construction integrity. Top load bag filter cages are available with a T-flange, ring top, or several styles of rolled flange tops. Cage diameters range from 4” to 6 1/8”. Common wire thickness ranges are 9 gauge, 10 gauge, and 11 gauge. Bottom load bag filter cages are constructed with a split collar or split ring top. Common cage diameters range from 4” to 6 1/8”. Wire thickness ranges are 9 gauge, 10 gauge and 11 gauge. For more efficient cleaning, venturis are available for all diameter filter cages. Venturis come in 3” to 6” lengths. Venturis are made in a variety of materials; aluminum, carbon steel, galvanized and stainless steel. If you have special filter cage requirements, call IAC. In most cases we can customize a cage to fulfill your needs. Selecting the right filter cage is essential to maintaining proper bag performance, airflow, and long-term system reliability. If you need help confirming dimensions, wire configurations, materials, or compatibility with your existing baghouse, IAC’s parts specialists are ready to assist. We supply high-quality replacement cages engineered for pulse jet and reverse air systems used across cement, steel, mining, grain, wood processing, and other demanding operations.
